Open letter to Carson Palmer

mood: aggravated
Dear Mr. Palmer,

Thank you for F'ing my fantasy football team this week. I'm going to lose by a very narrow margin and it's all thanks to you. And I'm losing to a drummer, which makes it all that much worse.

Thanks again,
Don

And what a wonderful walk it has been.

4th of July at Lipsie - Super drunk, awesome time as always.

Vegas the following week. Also very fun. Also very drunk.

Ten year reunion the following weekend. Interesting to say the least, drank way too much there too.

Twins game the day after the reunion. Dome dogs and tailgating.

Turned 28 last week. Boo, I'm getting old.

Post work out weight tonight...222. I have been at or below my goal weight of 225 for about a week and a half now. Restting goals, gonna try to be at two bills by the new year. Thats gonna be tough, but you gotta have goals.

Today my pre-workout weight was 228. This is the first time I have weighed less than 230 pounds in as long as I can remember. I actually hit it two days ago, but I've been delaying getting excited about weight losses unless they stick for a few days.

Day off tomorrow, gonna go buy a new used 5-iron, hit the driving range, maybe layout in the sun if its nice out and read for a while. Then golf tomorrow night. Woo Hoo!!

Happy Friday
03:00pm 06/06/2008
I really want to golf tonight, but I don't think its in the cards what with the weather.

I'm sick of paying $2.50 for canned coffee drinks, so I went and bought an espresso maker today. Had to make a couple pots to try it out. I think my entire body is vibrating. This is gonna be awesome.

Not much happening this weekend, gonna mess around with my Bass Pod and try to get outside if the rain ever stops. And I may get a little tipsy tonight, because thats what has to happen.

The Last Week.
10:08am 01/06/2008
Isle Royale was amazing. Knocked out 54.5 miles in five days. Not bad for a fat dude. Saw a bunch of moose, got a little to close to one of them. I love that island.

Friday Johnny Mac and i went and saw the Breeders at First Ave. Totally awesome show, that opening bad wasn't fantastic, but the Breeders rocked.

Now it's back to work, working out and tryig to get some music stuff done while I'm on summer break.

Overnights are teh suck.
04:04pm 20/04/2008
I spent a majority of my weekend working 7pm-7am overnights outside guarding the Bike Swap at Continental Ski from theivery and what have you. It was cold, boring and cold.

Its supposed to be nice out at some point this week, I'm totally hitting the driving range as soon as the weather permits. I have a biology test on monday that I'm not looking forward to. Ever since we started doing animal anatomy I've had a hard time bothering with studying. I'm a plant person, I don't care what and where the spleen is. One paper and one big project and then its pretty much just finals. Then a sweet, sweet summer of no school.

The spring Isle Royale trip is coming up pretty quick here. I have no new gear for this trip, besides a rain jacket. Part of the fun is the getting to use new gadgets, but I have too much stuff as it is. So it's just setting up the menu for the trip and we'll pretty much be ready to roll. We're actually planning a fish meal, as in catch them on the island. We fish just about every time we go and never eat fresh fish. This time its happening. Which means we probably won't catch shit. Meh, we can always count on John to atleast catch us a stick.

The working out hasn't been going so good during these last busy weeks of the semester. I sneak in runs a couple times a week, it's nice enough now that I can take Bob out for walks again. Which is good for both of us, he's a fat ass. And I hit the gym atleast once or twice a week. Considering I don't have much going on this summer I should have plenty of time for working out and what not. I've put two pounds back on over the last couple weeks. 237#.

Brewfest and other notes
06:05pm 08/04/2008
Brew fest was this weekend. It was fun, but nothing too exciting happened.

Circa played TPB on Friday night. Good show, good crowd. We were sloppy as shit but nobody seemed to notice, so we win. There's a little bit of video of the show on our Myspace site. I was just getting over a stomach flu so it wasnt my most energetic show ever.

I have been totally slacking off with my workouts. Its been a busy last couple weeks, I fit in a run here and there but not nearly enough. On the other hand what with the flu thing I have maintained my 235# weight since my last posted weight. Yaay for sick keeping you skinny.

Not much happening in the next couple weeks besides school. About a month until summer break. I had an interview for a LTE job with the Wisconsin DNR this week and I have another one next week if I dont get the first job. Either of those jobs will whip my ass into shape over the summer. Hopefully I score a job.

Jeep fixed this weekend. Check

Awesome Man Day of working on cars and stomping around the woods. Check.

Isle Royale trip for the spring planned. Check.

Well thats not much of a list I guess. But it was still an awesome weekend.

Davina and the Vagabonds at Club Saratoga tonight from 6-10. They are an awesome jazz/blues band from the Cities. Normally I dont even dig on this music enough to see it live, but these guys are really good.

I slacked off pretty bad with working out last week, gotta get back on that horse this week for sure.

Painting is fun.
10:01pm 22/03/2008
I didnt have a very productive spring break. Besides getting in some painting for the machine shop, I didnt do very much.

I havent posted my weight in a couple weeks. Midterms sucked up a bunch of my time and my computer has been acting up so i just havent gotten online much.

Last posting I was at 236#. I dropped one more pound, slowly working my way down. So I'm rocking it at 235#.

Little late.
11:41am 29/02/2008
I forgot to post my weight loss standings on Tuesday. Not that it matters because I didn't lose any weight. Bummer, I know. This week should be better though. I kinda played around with my workout routine last week and it did not work out for the better.

Last week 237#
This week 237#

Mustaches come and mustaches go.
08:46pm 19/02/2008
Played The Transistors Anti-Valentine's Day party last week. It was a lot of fun, good crowd, good (read free) beer. Thanks to all those who made it a fun night.

Then this weekend was Mustachio Bashio. It was kind of a last minute mustachio. So it was only Hodge, Will and I for Friday night and most of the day Saturday. Then Richard and Jake came out. We drank a metric fuck ton of beer, ate some awesome food. Hodges Brats were awesome and I made marinated bacon wrapped venison chops. So good.

So through all this I still managed to lose three pounds. Not bad for indulging in bad habits over the last four days and not getting to work out while out at the cabin all weekend. Unless you count drilling holes through 30+ inches of ice a work out...which it was. I thought I was going to need to put an extension on the auger.

Now I need to get my ass in gear with the schoolin'. I've been having a hard time getting going this semester. I think it's because I'm taking all the same classes as last semester, just the second half of them. So this year is kinda dragging.

Well that's enough blah blah from me.

Last week 240#
This week 237#

Well, I'm fat. It's gross and I'm sick of it. I'm starting to work out again and have been finding myself slacking off already. I'm going to post my weight on here once a week so there is a little accountablility involved. So feel free to shame me mercilessly when I don't post a good weight. I'm looking to obtain and maintain a 15 pound weight loss for starters.

So right now I'm 240.

Looking to be 225.

Here goes...

Back in one piece.
10:25pm 07/01/2008
Another successful trip to the UP.

Hodge and I threatened to snowshoe. We once again never took them out of the car and spent the entire time driving around to the different bars in each little town, where we chatted with the locals a little and did a good amount of drinking. The UP is one of my favorite places. Next time I go, I'll get the snowshoes out, maybe even the cross country skis. Book Across the Bay is in the not too distant future, I need to start getting ready for that. I think if there's any snow left tomorrow I may have to get the snowshoes strapped on and head out for the day.

This week I have to buy a cheap car and try and find a part time job. Both of these tasks are teh suck. I also need to start recording some demos for the side project buddah and I want to start, I need to learn a bunch of cover songs for a special show coming up in the next couple months and play with my new toy.

What new toy?

My new Dean Flying V acoustic.

Bow down before it, for it is awesome.

Semester one of return to college experiment...complete.

It wasnt that bad I guess, and I finished with a 3.22 GPA for the semester, not bad. Not great, but not bad. Only taking twelve credits next semester as I'm going to have to buck up and get a job.

Christmas was its usual fun-fest...blech, I hate christmas, except for the drinking.

New years was fun, nice and laid back.

Went ice fishing for the first time last weekend. I love ice fishing, nothing is further from a sport than ice fishing. Makes me look forward to Mustachio Bashio in February.

Heading up to the UP of Michigan this weekend for some snow-shoe-ing and bar-hopp-ing. I love the UP. No place like it anywhere.

So here's my weekend.
11:54pm 26/08/2007
I was going to go spend some time at the cabin this week. That plan changed when Allen got tickets to the Grumpy's block party. So I ended going down to the cities on Friday and seeing Allen's other band play. Then, as long as I was in the cities, Buddah and I went over to St. Paul and saw Davina and the Vagabonds. All good except for the fact that I'd had far too much to drink at that point. So we show up and I'm talking to every and any one who I could get in front of. I talked to the band members WAY too much. Praise is good but coming from a drunk, as I could have been described that night, I can imagine it only means so much. I would like to say I do love that band. And if by some weird coincidence anyone from the band or anyone who knows them reads this. So sorry, I was drunk, you guys are more than awesome.

Anyway, the next day Allen, Jeremy and I went to Grumpy's and saw The Burning Brides, Helmet and The Melvins. There were a couple other bands as well but none of them caught my attention enough to name them here. Helmet was good. I'm not very familiar with them. They were really tight as a band though. The Melvins were really good. Really good.

Then after that show we hightailed it over to First Ave and were able to catch the QotSA. They seemed a little less enthused for that show than the one in Duluth. They didn't play nearly as long and, while still very good, just weren't as good as in D-town.

Sunday was the fantasy football draft. Very good times. We did it at Carmody's this year and they treated us well.

Over all an awesome weekend. More than I deserve being the unemployed a-hole that I am.

That is all.

Well, there's seven years for ya

mood: hopeful
Today is my last day as a truss designer.(hopefully)

I'm quitting a pretty decent paying job, with benefits and other perks, to go back to school full time at the age of 27. I'm a little freaked out about the whole thing.

I've worked here for seven years. So thats about a quarter of my life that I've been here. I was one of the first people hired on when this placed opened in 2000. Crazy how time flies by.
